Chronology of cameras Samsung

Already present in the photography market since the late 1980s, the Samsung Group also had significant expertise in the consumer electronics sector by 2000. Consequently, Samsung quickly ventured into the development of digital cameras.
Unfortunately, the brand lacked recognition among photographers and was unable to generate significant interest in its camera models. Efforts to collaborate with established camera or lens manufacturers failed to achieve the desired results, as Samsung remained too focused on its own approach. Despite offering cameras with innovative features, sales never took off. In 2015, Samsung withdrew from the camera market, shifting its focus to smartphones (in addition to more traditional markets like home appliances).

__________

The Samsung Kenox GX-1 is a manual focus SLR with motorized film advancement.

The Kenox GX-1 reference was for the South Korean market.
Outside the Korean peninsula, it was sold under Samsung SR 4000 reference.

According to the user manual, the system associated with the camera body is composed of:
    - 4 lenses:
. one fixed focal lens (50 mm f1:1.4)
      . three zooms (28-70 mm f1:3.5-4.5 ; 28-105 mm f1:3.5-4.5 ; 70-210 mm f1:4.0-5.6)
    - a dedicated GN 24 TTL flashgun (ATL-240) that attaches to the hotshoe, the reflector is not adjustable
    - a remote control for remote triggering
    - 2 eyepieces with correction (-3 and +1 dioptres)

In addition to the 24 x 36 mm format, the Kenox GX-1 allows 13.3 x 36 mm panorama shots via a push button located under the soleplate that makes appear two masks between the shutter blades and the film.

Two measurement modes are available: center weighted metering and spot metering.

The lens mount is specific. Despite a lens mount design strongly inspired by the AF Minolta mount, Samsung did not preserve compatibility.
